Who can come to these courses? Do I need to audition?
Any young person who loves performing can attend these courses. There are no auditions.
Is lunch provided?
Lunch is not provided in the price of the course, you are advised to bring packed lunch and snacks or money.
I am outside the suggested age range of the courses.
Can I go?
Age ranges are just a guideline. We don’t suggest anyone under 14 but in exceptional circumstances we are willing to take on slightly younger participants. Anyone under 16 will need to have written permission from a parent or guardian.
What do I need to prepare for the courses?
You will need to bring a piece ready to perform off book (without script or music). This can be a 1-2 minute monologue or a song (please bring sheet music not backing tracks) depending on your strengths. We suggest you pick material that you enjoy performing and that shows you off.
Essentially we want you to perform anything you feel comfortable with and would like us to see.
Will there be a public performance of our work?
Not this time around. These workshops are designed for professional development and personal growth so no public performance will take place. All performances will be for an in-house panel.
Do I have to sing?
Mike and Annabel specialise in Musical Theatre and the workshop will mostly feature Musical Theatre repertoire. However, ‘straight’ actors are more than welcome at the workshop and can choose to perform a monologue. Students are recommended to have at least an interest in Musical Theatre and singing even if they don't think it is where their primary strength lies.
Are these courses value for money?
We like to think we are providing amazing value for the service we provide. All classes are capped which means we will get to know participants personally and be able to give them lots of one-to-one advice and help.
